For yourself and this planet to live on
We use TENCEL™ fiber.
TENCEL™ fiber is a natural product made from renewable raw wood material.
This characterizes Mediclo fabric very special NATUALLY: gentle on your skin, breathable, limit bacteria growth, silky soft, sweat control, thermal control and luxurious appearance.
Also TENCEL™ fiber is certified bio-friendly, biodegradable and compostable, and our production process is fully environmentally responsible. We take this special care in our product because we understand and are dedicated to maintaining environmental balance. Our garments are made with nature’s cycle in mind.
Specifically, TENCEL™ is manufactured from Eucalyptus trees, which grow
quickly on otherwise agriculturally unusable low-grade land. It takes just half an
acre to grow enough trees for one ton of TENCEL™ fiber. Cotton needs at least
five times as much land, and requires the use of high quality, contested farm
acreage. Additionally, TENCEL™ production is done without the use of
pesticides or insecticides.
While Eucalyptus trees don’t need irrigation, water is still used to process the
pulp and turn it into TENCEL™ fiber. However, water use is estimated at only
155 gallons per pound of fiber; a full 80% less than is required by cotton.
TENCEL™ has a closed loop production process, meaning over 99% of the
non-toxic solvent is recycled and pushed back into the system instead of being
flushed out as wastewater. Don’t just take our word for it: TENCEL™ fibers are
certified by the European eco-label Oeko Tex 100 as containing low levels of
manufacturing chemicals and byproducts.
We take our environmental concerns seriously, and make a product that is eco-friendly and globally sustainable.
